Drawings and texts by Denise Sarrecchia
Voice by Valentina Bernardini
From July 3rd, 2025
The exhibition
Eight women. Eight gazes. Eight worlds.
InMe is a motionless journey, a threshold crossed with eyes closed—yet watchful. It is a collection of portraits of women suspended in a space without borders or time, yet pulsing with the intensity of the present moment. These are women portrayed in a state of conscious trance: closed eyes that see beyond, open eyes that pierce through the visible to reach the intimate, vibrating essence of existence.
Each image is a fragment of the invisible, a silent revelation that invites the viewer not to understand, but to feel. There is no linear narrative, no beginning or end—only the echo of intimacy made flesh, gaze, and presence. Each woman depicted is simultaneously here and elsewhere, body and vision, root and wind.
The exhibition consists of eight drawings, each accompanied by a QR code. Through the audio of intimate reflections, visitors are invited to slow down and let the words pass through them—like a whisper resonating in the skin, the heart, the personal experience.
InMe does not ask for answers, but for openness.
It doesn’t speak of finished stories, but of questions still alive.
It is a threshold crossed in silence.
It is a call to feeling.
It is an attempt to speak oneself—and perhaps, gently, to be found again.
The Artist
Denise Sarrecchia is a writer, graphic designer, and illustrator. Her work explores the intersection of words and images, with a poetic gaze turned toward inner movements and the imagination.
Among her illustrated works, Bonsai (2020) received a special mention at the Raffaele Artese Prize, with part of its proceeds supporting the Afadoc association, which in turn was awarded by OMaR for its communication on rare diseases and cancers.
Fai pensieri felici (Think Happy Thoughts, 2022), written and illustrated by her, became an immersive performance presented in Sora and Cetona, exploring themes of listening and sharing.
La baia (The Bay), still unpublished, received a special mention at the 2023 Andersen Prize – Baia delle Favole.
Denise is co-founder of SelkInk, a small digital editorial studio offering publishing services, through which she carries forward the LISA project (an acronym for Books for a Supportive and Welcoming Education), aimed at supporting children’s education in developing countries through collaboration with international nonprofit organizations.
She is also the founder of Vitamina Scuola, a workshop on empathy and inclusion—a training program for teachers and children, developed in collaboration with a team of psychotherapists, designed to strengthen empathy, inclusion, and to counter bullying.
She has always drawn, loves art, watches animated films, and dreams of creating one of her own someday.
The Voice
Valentina Bernardini has been an actress since childhood and later specialized as a voice-over artist, dubbing actor, and narrator. Trained in film and theater academies, she has worked primarily in children’s and youth theater. Her personal and artistic development is closely tied to the Center for Metacultural Research and Experimentation, where she explored language in all its forms.
Passionate about voice, she devotes herself to storytelling, podcasts, audiobooks, dubbing, and voice work. She is part of the SelkInk team, the editorial studio co-founded by Denise. She has always chosen to follow her passions rather than her ambitions. Her main reason for doing this work is simple: joy—the pleasure of doing it.
